Welcome to Marion Primary School
Marion Primary School strives to develop responsible, independent learners who contribute confidently to the future. We aim for personal excellence, continuous learning, and care and respect for each other and the environment. We have a commitment to improve teaching and learning in literacy, numeracy, assessment and planning and science. Our focus is building a positive school culture where staff, students and parents work together to achieve improved outcomes.
We aim to develop our students' resilience in a safe, supportive and respectful environment.
Student leadership is actively fostered and a Student Representative Council (SRC) with students from all year levels participating. The SRC meets fortnightly to follow up issues raised through classroom meetings.
Each year a choir made up of years 6 and 7 students enters into the Festival of Music. Music is valued within the school and students learn a range of string instruments such as violin, viola and cello. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is utilised across the curriculum and all classrooms have interactive whiteboards and internet access. Spanish is the language other than English and is taught from Reception to Year 7.
During lunchtimes there are a variety of clubs offered by our Christian Pastoral Support Worker, such as Gardening Club and Cooking Club which are popular.
After-school sports is a focus which is supported by a range of parent coaches and team managers. The range of sports we offer is cricket, football, netball, soccer and softball. We also have Marion Primary School teams competing in badminton and volleyball at other schools.
Our main building was totally refurbished in 2010 and we are now working in our fantastic new environment with new classrooms, wet areas and toilets.
